About the Author:
Worked as a writer for Canadian and American Medical journals, afflicted with a law degree. The street where we lived had contaminated water. Only 10 houses but 4 kids have law degrees. Coincidence? Doubt it! THE COMRADES deals with love, war and law
About the Book:
Heart Ally Books (August 15, 2011) 9th century Wales…
Evan, king of Powys, returns from a wedding to find a village ransacked, with women and children dead. Neighboring Gwynedd has broken the peace, crossing the mountain to pillage and murder. The dead babes tear his heart, and Evan vows to break the heart of Gwynedd.
Gwynedd’s most guarded treasure is a pampered princess. In a bloody raid, Evan’s comrades return to Powys with Gwynedd’s heart.
Evan knows holding the princess will be dangerous and her safe-keeping may mean the difference between the lasting peace he desires and a bloody war. He’s prepared for her to be kept safe but unprepared for the girl’s intelligence, compassion and damnably kissable mouth.
“Evan took in the vision of a scarlet gown, which barely disguised the shapely form and a river of black curls that caressed to girl’s waist. Oh, Lord. He wished he had ordered sackcloth.”
Morleyna’s secret gift of Sight reveals a cruel betrayal that sends Evan on a mystical journey where he discovers his only chance for redemption rests in the hands of his captive.
Her brothers will arrive to claim their sapphire-eyed sister. Will her kinsmen, bent on revenge, destroy Evan and his comrades? Or will destruction come from Morleyna who may be the reincarnation of someone whose beauty captivated a nation? (ISBN#9780983513308, 464pp, $2.99 e-book)

BWR Tours is proud to introduce Greta van der Rol and her book Black Tiger which not only highlights the plight of endangered animals but is a highly enjoyable paranormal/fantasy romance as well with a rather unique premise. Without further ado – here’s an interview feature with Greta as part of our tour week.
1. What made you choose to write in the Genre that you write in?
I write what I’d like to read. I guess most of us do. So most of my books are space operas in the Star Trek and Star Wars vein, except I try to make the science a bit more plausible. They’re fast-paced and action-packed, and I add a dollop of romance to the mix.
“Black Tiger” isn’t space opera, of course. It’s a contemporary paranormal but it is still action-packed. I had a different reason for writing that book. I’ll come to that later.
2. What is your favorite thing about the writing experience and why?
Writing ‘the end’ on the first draft because then I can go back and edit. I like editing. It gives me a chance to round out and improve my vision.
3. How do you handle bad reviews?
I ignore them. You can’t please all the people all of the time. There are plenty of well-credentialed books that I don’t like at all. Why should mine be any different?
4. What book do you recommend everyone should read and why?
I don’t think such an animal exists. Everyone has different tastes. People told me I should read Charles Dickens. I don’t like his style. Shakespeare is a noise whizzing over my head. I loved the Harry Potter books but I wouldn’t read 50 shades of grey in a blue fit. Or even a grey one. I recommend everybody should read lots of books, whatever turns them on.
5. When you write, do you write for a long period of time or do you write in short burst? Where did your inspiration for this book come from?
I tend to write in short bursts because I have to sort out a scene in my head before I can get the words down. Mind you, when I do get the words down, I might change what I thought I was going to write.
The inspiration for Black Tiger came from the realization that time is running out for the wild tiger, unless people do something about it.
6. Who is your favorite author and why?
There are so many. But I think I’d have to say Terry Pratchett. I’d read a shopping list if he wrote it. Why? Because he’s funny, erudite, clever. He sends up everything we hold dear, points out our prejudices, shows us courage, holds a light to the dark underbelly of society. He does all that and he entertains. I don’t write like him, do not wish to write like him. But I love his books. The latest hardback is a no-brainer for the shopping cart.
7. What words of advice would you give to aspiring authors?
Learn the tools of the trade. By that I mean spelling, grammar, sentence structure. You can write a best-seller if you get those wrong – but only if you’re lucky enough to tap into the public mind, such as 50 shades of grey.
The “rules of writing” are NOT rules. They are guidelines worth knowing about. Ignore them as long as you know why you’re doing it.
Never give up.
8. Who is your favorite character in your book and why?
I adore Ash, my alpha male. He’s born to wealth and privilege but he’s torn apart by duty, family ties, ancient history – and his growing love for the wrong woman. Oh, and he has to contend with that savage part of himself that will take him over at any chance.
I like Sally, too. Brought up under such different circumstances from Ash, she’s worked to make a career for herself. Ash is somebody from out of left field, entirely the wrong man. And yet.
9. What is your favorite scene from the book and why?
Sally’s first encounter with the Black Tiger. It’s powerful, atmospheric and it’ll get your heart thumping.
10. What is the best book you have ever read?
That’s a hard one. Best? I don’t know but probably a favorite would be “The Lord of the Rings”.
11. Is there another hobby you have that you would like to share?
I’m a photographer. It’s very much a hobby but I’ve sold some work and I occasionally showcase pictures on my blog. My subjects are very much nature. I have portfolios at Redbubble and Dreamstime.
12. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Doing pretty much what I do now. Write books, enjoy the beach, take photos. Did I mention I’m retired?
By then though, we might have a dog.
13. Coffee or Tea?
Most definitely tea. One (good) coffee a day is fine. Any more gives me palpitations.

About the Author:
Greta van der Rol loves writing science fiction with a large dollop of good old, healthy romance. Black Tiger is a slight departure from her usual genre, because it’s contemporary and paranormal., but, like her other books, it’s fast-paced and action-packed. She lives not far from the coast in Queensland, Australia and enjoys photography and cooking when she isn’t bent over the computer. She has a degree in history and a background in building information systems, both of which go a long way toward helping her in her writing endeavors.
She also has a love for animals and nature, which is why all profits from the sales of Black Tiger will go to the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation to help tiger conservation.
About the Book:
CreateSpace (September 29, 2012)He haunts the jungle – and her dreams
When Dr. Sally Carter travels to India to regroup from a broken heart the last thing she wants is to fall in love. But Raja Asoka (Ash) Bhosle is entirely too attractive to ignore, even though she knows it can only end in tears. Hers.
Ash guards his forest and the precious creatures within it, protecting the rare tigers from mindless slaughter, and a secret that lives in legend. From the moment he sets eyes on the Australian doctor, he wants her, even over the objections of his mother and the unsuitability of her cultural heritage.
While Ash fights tiger poachers, Sally struggles against cultural prejudice. Can the Legend of the Black Tiger be the bond that brings them closer together, or will it be an impossible belief that rips them apart. The closer Sally comes to understanding what the legend means, the more frequent the nightmares become. Is she losing her sanity, or is there more to Sally than she herself knows? The answers lie buried in her past.
When the Black Tiger breaks free to stalk the night, only one thing will control the beast. (ISBN#9781480013865, 218pp, $2.99 e-book)

Hey folks, Lisa here! So, we have all been waiting on baited breath for the day when BWRTours was officially open for business, right? You have been watching, waiting to see someone say “okay, authors, you can book your tours now because there are enough bloggers on board to make it happen,” haven’t you?
Well, guess what? That day as officially arrived! After months of planning, blogger recruiting and organizational nuttiness, we are officially open for business.
We have hopefully streamlined the process as much as possible. Once you fill out the form to book the tour, myself and Jaime and Melissa will take a look at your book wherever a sample is available and we will make sure that we are going to be able to accommodate your book with the services we have available. After that, you will be contacted by one of us (most likely me) to make sure that you have selected the tour that best meets the needs of your book in terms of what you are looking for and to determine if you want to add any additional stops or any additional services that may not be listed on the booking form. Then, you will be invoiced via paypal.
Upon receipt of payment, our organizational director (Melissa) will contact you to start getting the arrangements made to book your tour. We will get all of your materials together and create a press release and send that out to bloggers and get your tour scheduled.
Once we accept and invoice your tour, we will need a couple of things from you to create the press release. We will need a cover image, an author photo, a book description or blurb, and an about the author blurb. (If your book is already published, we can acquire these essentials on our own, but there will be an additional fee if they are not directly provided).
We will need to know if you want to send e-copies to reviewers, and whether or not you are willing to send physical copies in case a reviewer is not able to review e-copies. If you would prefer that we distribute the book (by gifting it to our bloggers via their preferred e-reading market) rather than you providing e-copies to us or mailing a paper book if that is your preference, we can provide that service as well for as little as the cost of the book plus a small processing fee for the time involved if it is a paper book. For e-copies, the fee would be less as there is no mailing involved.
Once we have sent out your press release, if there is an overwhelming response in terms of bloggers wanting to book your tour, we will contact you prior to booking any additional stops to make sure that you want to include the additional stops at the very low additional stop fee.
Then, if you have opted to include guest posts or interviews, you will be contacted for your materials for this to be distributed to the bloggers.
After all of that, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the show. It is, of course, encouraged that authors visit the different stops and say hello in the comments. You will be provided with a list of all stops.
After the tour has completed, you may be contacted for feedback on how the process went for you and asked for ideas on anything that might need to be improved. This will help us to streamline the process further in the future. Thanks again for taking a look at Black, White and Read Tours and we look forward to working with you!
Also, if you are currently working on a new manuscript, please do check out our editing rates and feel free to contact us regarding that via the “Leave Feedback” Page. We follow industry standard rates and can try to accommodate lower budget projects on a case-by-case basis depending on the availability of our editors!
